The Cloud Jump Lecture Performance

In December 27, 2005, the acrobat Olle broke his neck in a triple back somersault and was instantly paralyzed from the neck down. The accident took place at a big stage in Stockholm during the warm-up before a performance.

Olle, who could no longer work as an acrobat, began to approach the circus from another angle.

As a director, he has focused on a sustainable circus practice and on finding a way forward when everything changes. In 2018, 12 years after the crash, Olle left the ground to create a reenactment of the stunt a way to choose his landing point and say farewell to the acrobat inside. This time he performed the acrobatic stunt 3000 meters up in the air and landed in a cloud.

The cloud jump is a deep dive into the creative process, about changing perspectives and a surrealistic story of a group of people who spent 2.5 years on an impossible dream of being able to control fate.
